Supportive Care
Detox is a medical intervention that manages an individual safely through the process of acute withdrawal. It is an important first step; however, it is not treatment. A recovery program helps to identify and address barriers to recovery that exist in each individual and puts into place a plan that supports long term recovery. At Global Medical Detox supportive care is available to prepare each individual patient to transition to a treatment program of their choice.
Recovery options are multiple and often making a meaningful choice is confusing and at times frustrating. Each patient will work with a counselor to help make sense of the current circumstances, evaluate prior treatment experiences, and in partnership, work to develop a comprehensive initial treatment plan to follow. At Global Medical Detox supportive care includes:
- Psycho-social Evaluation
- Individualized Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan
- One on One Counseling
- Introduction to Self Help Resources
- Education Regarding the Disease of Addiction
- Family Contract
- Comprehensive Discharge Plan
- Prevention and Intervention with Self-Defeating Behaviors
- Assigned Counselor
